The Direct Path Immersion

When Path and Goal Become One

Most spiritual paths begin with effort. This version of the path begins where effort ends. The deepest realization of your true nature requires no techniques at all, because you are already it.

In chapter two of his Essence of Tantra, Abhinavagupta acknowledges something both startling and liberating: “the spontaneous mode of realization,” a recognition that requires no method, no gradual cultivation, and no accumulation of practices or of merit. This is the Pathless Path — not because it is vague or mystical, but because reality, once recognized, needs no support to remain what it already is.

The Pathless Path Immersion is designed for those who sense that the heart of awakening is not found in doing more, but in seeing clearly. This is not an immersion about adding more to your spiritual life. This is an invitation to see through the entire framework of seeking — and fully arrive at what was always already the case.

This Immersion draws primarily from chapters two and three of both the Tantrasāra and Tantrāloka of the pre-eminent Tantrik master, Abhinavagupta.

Each Sunday, participants gather for a 2.5-hour live group call (on Zoom), where teachings and practices are offered in a way that speaks directly to the path of awakening in the context of our real-life situations. In addition to the main sessions, students join small peer-led discussion groups, and are supported by mentors or practice buddies, creating a deeply connected and supportive learning environment.

To fully engage in the Immersion, students must commit to a daily practice of silent sitting of at least 25 minutes, and agree to follow the Immersion guidelines, including engaging with one’s regional group and one’s buddy. This commitment fosters a potent field for growth, anchored in consistency, sincerity, and shared intention.

The Immersion has been running for over ten years, and students invariably cite it as one of the most transformative experiences of their lives. Showing up consistently to practice in community, with access to an experienced guide, students can go deeper more quickly than ever before.

Awakening is available anywhere you look really. But if you seek it here, I trust you will find hearts of gold, expert facilitation, teachings with unknowable depth and a community that might just feel like home, as it does for me.

Following the three months of formal Immersion, there is a more informal three-month period of integration and preparation for retreat with your practice buddy and regional study groups. The in-person retreat serves as the culmination of the Immersion.

The retreat will take place in California from the 6th to 10th of April, 2027. (Students who cannot attend the USA retreat will be given a tuition credit to apply to our Portugal retreat taking place in May 2027).

You will need to complete the Foundations of Tantrik Yoga course to participate in the Immersion. If you have not yet done so, you can join the Tantra Illuminated Online as a Sadhaka member and complete the course prior to the start of the Immersion in September.

We welcome your application to join our flagship course, where we hope you'll not only expand your spiritual horizons but also form lifelong bonds with a supportive community of like-hearted individuals.

What a ride! I feel so deeply blessed to have had this opportunity. Witnessing Consciousness wake to itself all around me. Amazing, intense, painful and ALL of it so perfectly beautiful! Nothing will ever be the same again.

This program changed my life. It points directly to what it is to be human. It answered questions I had been asking myself since I was a child. It provided me with the tools to see clearly. It fostered lifetime friendships. It gave me practices and a point of view on reality that I carry with me every moment of my life.
